Svenn Tveit har en mastergrad i petroluemsteknologi (2011) og doktorgrad i anvendt matematikk (2015) fra Universitet i Bergen. Han startet på NORCE (tidligere UniResearch CIPR) i 2014. Hans hovedinteresser innenfor forskning er utvikling av simuleringsmodeller for flyt i porøse medier, spesielt kobling mellom fysiske, kjemiske og biologiske prosesser. Slike modeller kan blant annet anvendes innenfor CO2- og hydrogenlagring, petroluemsutvinning og grunnvannsflyt. I de siste årene har han jobbet med utvikling og implementering av nye moduler i simuleringsverktøyet OPM.
