Kjersti Solberg Eikrem har en doktorgrad i matematikk fra NTNU (2013). Siden oktober 2018 har hun vært forsker ved NORCE Energy. Fra 2014 til 2018 var hun forsker ved International Research Institute of Stavanger (IRIS). Hun har også vært postdoktor ved The National IOR Centre of Norway (2014-2020). Hennes forskningsinteresser er optimering og dataassimilering med ensemblebaserte metoder, havvind, seismisk inversjon, batterier og usikkerhetskvantifisering i inverse problemer.
