Knowledge for Better Climate Adaptation
We study physical processes in the climate system (atmosphere, land, ocean) relevant on regional to local scale and how processes influence each other. We investigate how climate changes and inform society about possible consequences (physical climate risk). We work cross-disciplinary.
Our group consists of 18 scientists located in Bergen and Tromsø. We have high competence in mathematics, physics, meteorology, hydrology, geography and biology.
As tools we apply - detailed simulations from regional climate models - novel satellite technology and - advanced observations from local stations.
We are passionate about distilling climate data to information and contribute with knowledge about the climate system to better decision-making within climate adaptation.
