I am a senior researcher at NORCE Climate and affiliated to the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research.

As an ecosystem ecologist ,my research interests center around investigating the effects of environmental change on carbon dynamics in terrestrial and ecosystems. In my work I use field observations and experiment to study the interactions between plants, soil and atmosphere, to improve our understanding of the factors that drive ecosystem functioning. As part of the EMERALD and DURIN project funded by the Norwegian Research Council I also work together with Earth System Modellers I to improve the representation of high latitude ecosystems and their climate interactions in The Norwegian Earth System Model (NorESM) by integrating empirical data and knowledge in model development.

Furthermore, I am very interested in working with Nature Based Solutions as strategies to mitigate climate change. To this end I am now leading the ReStore project funded through COWIfonden, where we will look into the effect of different peatland restoration measures on ecosystem carbon exchange and carbon storage over time.

Please get in touch if you have questions or see opportunities for collaboration in the future.
