Jeg fullførte doktorgraden i anvendt matematikk ved Universitetet i Bergen i 2002. Jeg har siden 1/10-2018 vært ansatt som Forsker II i NORCE Energi. Fra 2006-2018 var jeg seniorforsker ved IRIS, og før dette forsker ved Rogalandsforskning.

Jeg har hovedsaklig jobbet med problemstillinger knyttet til modellering av flerfase væskestrømning i brønner og porøse medier (reservoar), og spesielt kalibrering av modeller ved å anvende ensemble-basert data assimlilering. Jeg har også jobbet med ensemble-basert optimering, og har bidratt til utvikling og anvendelser av disse metodene. Den senere tid har jeg jobbet med anvendelser som involverer store datasett (seismikk) og stor-skala modeller, samt problemstillinger innenfor medisin.
