Jeg har lang erfaring med utvikling av avanserte matematiske modeller for fysiske forhold i brønner under boring, herunder strømning av ikke-Newtonske væsker og varmeoverføring. Modellene har vært brukt for til planlegging, de har vært tilpasset til og innlemmet i en avansert treningssimulator, de har inngått i programvare for sanntids beslutningsstøtte, og i automatiserte delsystemer.

I de siste årene har jeg jobbet med maskinlæring og hvordan fysikk-baserte modeller kan kombineres med data-drevne metoder for å utnytte store mengder målte data på en pålitelig måte.

I forbindelse med å gi støtte ved automatisert trykkstyring under boring, har jeg hatt mange offshore-opphold, og gjennom det lært mye om hvordan teknologi, mennesker og organisasjon fungerer under kritiske operasjoner. I forlengelsen av dette har jeg bidratt i prosjekter som studerer ulike sikkerhetsaspekter knyttet til økende automatisering i boring.

For modellutvikling har jeg brukt mange programmeringsspråk, mest Fortran-95, Matlab, Python og C#.
