I am a civil engineer with a PhD in thermal modeling from the Department of Geoscience at NTNU. Since 2011, I have been employed at NORCE (formerly Christian Michelsen Research). Prior, I worked at NGU (Geological Survey of Norway) from 1998 to 2008 and at NGI (Norwegian Geotechnical Institute) from 2008 to 2011. My primary areas of expertise include geothermal energy, ground source heat pumps, thermal energy storage, and integrated energy systems. In recent years, I have also served as a project manager for initiatives related to CO2 storage.
My contributions have played a significant role in the development of geothermal energy in Norway. I have been involved in designing several of the largest well parks, such as those at Ahus and Sørlandssenteret in the 2000s, and have followed up on the innovative integrated energy systems established over the past decade. Additionally, I have conducted investigations into geothermal district heating on the mainland and Svalbard.
Internationally, I have participated in geothermal projects in Poland, India, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Sweden, and Greece, among others. I also possess experience in permafrost mapping, fiber optic measurement technology (DxS), assessing the risk of overheating in submarine cables and basin modelling.
