As a senior researcher in the research group for modelling and simulation, Ulrik Thisted is involved in many applied research projects, primarily development of new processes and new process equipment.
Since 2004, he holds a Dr. Ing. degree from NTNU in technical physics, and a siv. ing. degree from the same institution from 1999. Before joining Teknova/NORCE in 2015 he worked in Elkem Solar, APL and TTS sense.
With an extensive background in mathematics and physics, Ulrik is using mathematical models to predict the behavior of new innovative processes and equipment. The relevant applications are distributed among many areas with a connection to the green shift, such as metallurgy, renewable energy, hydrogen and circular economy. He is also involved in life cycle assesments (LCA) of processes and products within these fields.
