Dr. Gilles Pelfrene is a Senior Researcher at NORCE Drilling and Well modelling, where he is working on automated drilling and well engineering processes and simulators. Prior to joining NORCE in 2022, he gained 10 years’ experience in the drilling industry where he managed and implemented projects related to the dynamic modelling of drill bits and drilling strings and their interaction with the rock formation and downhole equipment. He has been a member of several conference program committees (SPE Drilling Conference 2020, 2022; Adipec 2021) and received the outstanding technical reviewer award for SPE Drilling & Completion journal in 2019. He is an active member of the Norwegian Center for Geothermal Energy Research (CGER).
