Gender divide in education limits access to competence in the workforce. Several factors influence gender divided educational choices, such as interests, stereotypes, social background, family, and the social context in which young people grow up.

On behalf of the Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs (Bufdir), NORCE and Vestlandsforsking are conducting a study to increase knowledge about measures and tools for promoting less gender-traditional educational choices in secondary school and high school. Our goal is to assess the factors influencing how secondary and high schools implement the tools and measures. Additionally, we aim to gain an understanding of how these measures are perceived and understood within schools and their role in combating gender-divide in education.
