I am a Senior Researcher at NORCE, working primarily with industry analysis, regional economic development, energy transition, and analyses of employment and skills. My work draws on company data, register data and other quantitative data sources, often combined with surveys and qualitative interviews. I have worked on topics including petroleum and emerging energy industries, the health industry, seafood and other bio-based industries.
A central part of my work concerns analyses of industry structure, employment, value creation and the geographical distribution of economic activity. I have contributed to the development of NORCE’s company data model and company populations, based on data from sources including the Brønnøysund Register Centre, financial accounts and other register data. These tools are used for industry mapping and analyses of developments over time across industries and geographical areas.
Within energy research, I work particularly with developments in petroleum, offshore wind, CCUS and hydrogen/ammonia. This includes analyses of employment, age and skills profiles, recruitment needs and skills transfer between established and emerging energy industries. I have also worked with energy use and demand-side flexibility in private and public-sector organisations.
I also work with regional economic development, restructuring, commercial and industrial land, and regional growth opportunities. This has included analyses of land needs and regional restructuring in Rogaland, as well as mapping the health industry and regional innovation resources. I participate in Norges Bank’s Regional Network, where I interview business leaders in Western Norway, contributing to the information base used by Norges Bank, Norway’s central bank, in its assessments of economic developments.
I have experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including register and microdata, company and financial data, surveys and interviews, and extensive experience with commissioned research for public- and private-sector clients. I hold an MSc in Engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH, now NTNU) and have been a Senior Researcher at NORCE since 2017. Previously, I was Analysis Manager at Stavanger University Hospital and worked in the private sector with analysis, logistics, supply chain management, planning and project management, including at Laerdal Medical.
