I am a political scientist who takes an interest in judicial behavior and how the public perceive the legitimacy of courts and judicial decision-making. I am currently involved in research on case processing times in Norwegian courts, judicial politics in Scandinavian supreme courts, the challenge from terrorism in the Nordic countries, the effects of citizen panels on public perceptions of governance, and public perceptions of using liquid hydrogen to decarbonize maritime transport in Norway (Pilot-E project). My work mainly consists of quantitative observational studies as well as survey- and lab-experimental analyses.

My most recent journal publication is: Skiple, Jon Kåre, Henrik Litleré Bentsen, and Mark Jonathan McKenzie. "How docket control shapes judicial behavior: a comparative analysis of the Norwegian and Danish supreme courts." Journal of Law and Courts 9.1 (2021): 000-000.
