Emelie has an academic background within the field of Economic Geography, with a specific focus on innovation and industrial development. She is especially interested in topics such as industrial transitions and restructuring related to grand societal challenges, and how institutional factors such as industrial culture affect, and are affected by, such transitions. Emelie has also done research on framework conditions for the development of industrial symbiosis, as an important part of the transition towards the circular economy.
