Egil Kjerstad is a Social Scientist with a doctoral degree in Economics from University of Bergen. Kjerstad is Research Director and Professor of Health Economics. One of his main research field is public sector reforms, in particular in the health care sector. Studies of the motivation underlying such reforms and the evaluation of consequences and/or effects, using quantitative research methods and register data, are central research themes. In addition, he has also participated in studies combining qualitative and quantitative research methods, including cost-effectiveness/-benefit analysis.
