Mass balance

Mass balance

Developed a methodology for analyzing and modeling balances in transport systems

The methodology can be used for transport of CO2, gas, water, electricity, heat or general material transport.

We have experience in setting up mass balances and calculating uncertainty in these for different transport systems of CO2 and gas. The same type of methodology can also be used for transport of water, electricity, heat or general material transport.

Through several projects for industry and authorities, we have developed a methodology for analysing and modelling this type of system, and setting up balances that can reveal leaks, losses or systematic measurement errors. By taking into account uncertainty in estimates of masses/quantities at different points, we can assess whether deviations in the balance are within the expected accuracy, or whether deviations are due to leaks.

We can also be a useful partner when such systems are set up or evaluated, and advise on where measurement/counting points are most effective and can provide useful information for low investment and follow-up costs.
