Builds on experience from building multiphase flow meter, fiscal oil and gas meters, and a flare gas meter,

Since NORCE’s first projects on development of a multiphase flow meter, fiscal oil and gas meters, and a flare gas meter, we have carried out a range of projects and built solid competence related to flow measurements:

• Development of measurement technology for flow, fraction and quality measurements
• Evaluation of the uncertainty of complete measurement stations in fiscal situations
• Cost – benefit studies for optimal metering station design
• Evaluation of allocation uncertainty and risk-cost-benefit analysis for allocation systems

We have supplied the petroleum industry with significant competence through:

• Development of several Handbooks related to flow measurements for the NFOGM (Norwegian society for oil and gas measurement)
• Flow metering training courses on for industrial participants (fiscal and multiphase)
• Development of web-based training course

The broad range of projects has allowed us to develop significant knowledge on flow measurement technologies, industry experiences, challenges and technology gaps.
