Research and professional development

Emergency medicine is concerned with diagnosing and treatment of acute life threatening conditions. The emergency primary health care is obliged to diagnose and treat acute medical conditions, by telephone counselling, consultations and callouts.

Our activities in this area is carried out in the National Centre for Emergency Primary Health Care.

Our research and professional development within emergency medicine and emergency primary health care concern organizational conditions at the casualty clinics, development and utilization of decision support system, the general practitioners’ participation in emergency primary health care, testing of new organizational models, statistics based on data from patients, monitoring trends of contact, elderly in the emergency primary health care, safety culture, the general practitioners’ participation in emergency situations (red response), coordination and development within the pre-hospital emergency system, and development and evaluation of courses in emergency medicine, and clinical studies.
