SMARTech - Smart microgrid development technology based on Digital Twin

SMARTech - Smart microgrid development technology based on Digital Twin

, , Logo Smartech w, ,

The project used a digital twin approach to consider transitions to Smart Grids starting from existing infrastructures followed by the implementation of renewable energy generation equipment, storage solutions, smart consumption strategies, monitoring, remote control and energy efficiency.

Overall objective: Design and demonstration of smart microgrid development technology dedicated to accelerating the integration of renewable sources, increasing energy efficiency, including design, construction, monitoring and lifetime operation of microgrids.

Main results obtained:

  • Dimensioning model of microgrid components and performance calculation (number of photovoltaic panels, used area, number of batteries, park power, inverter power, ROI, etc.), using Matlab;
  • Development of an automatic reporting tool in Word format of the technical specifications resulting from the dimensioning model of the components and the integration of the microgrid performances;
  • Development of algorithms for balancing production and consumption under the conditions of the energy market (Time Shifting, Peak Shaving, Cuckoo Search), using Matlab;
  • Development of the tool for contextual analysis of predictive maintenance indicators, based on Machine Learning algorithms;
  • SMARTech platform for visualizing microgrid fault/health parameters.
