I am a Ph.D student in child welfare at the research group ‘PACT – Pathways to Active Citizenship’ at the Regional Center for Children and Youth Mental Health and Child Welfare, RKBU Vest. I am also associated with the research group for public mental health at UiB. I have a bachelor’s degree in pedagogy and a master’s degree in child welfare.

My project

The title of my project is Protective factors, quality of life and educational completion in unaccompanied refugee minors. These subjects will be researched through the following three articles:

Article 1: Protective factors associated with resilience among unaccompanied refugee minors after settling in Norway: a matched cross-sectional study

Article 2: Health-related quality of life among unaccompanied refugee minors settled in a Norwegian municipality

Article 3: Completion of upper secondary school among unaccompanied refugee minors and the association with child welfare measures

For articles 1 and 2, I utilized survey data from the 'Pathways to Independence' project, as well as data from youth@hordaland, for a relevant comparison group for article 1. For article 3, I use registry data from Statistics Norway, which includes data from the Norwegian Population Registry, the Immigration and Immigrants Registry, the National Educational Database (NUDB), and the Child Welfare Registry.
