Mathias Methlie Nilsen

I specialize in optimization, both in theory and application, with a focus on ensemble-based optimization (EnOpt). Additionally, I work with ensemble data assimilation methods.I completed my PhD in applied mathematics at the University of Bergen (UiB) in 2025, where I was part of the Centre for Sustainable Subsurface Resources (CSSR). I also hold a master's degree in Theoretical Atomic, Nuclear, and Particle Physics from UiB.
