Dr. Riseth is a chief researcher in management of common-pool resources and traditional knowledge. He has worked as an administrator, an educator, a researcher and a judge. His PhD dissertation was the first to perform a comparative institutional analysis of reindeer pastures as common-pool resources providing analysis and critique of contemporary sector policies. Beyond PhD he has performed institutional analysis of as well reindeer husbandry as nature conservation processes. Most of his research is interdisciplinary. In recent years traditional knowledge and its interface with science is at the core of his research both in climate change and impact studies.
