I am a clinical child and adolescent psychologist with a Phd in biological risk factors and early child development from Faculty of Psychology, University of Bergen. Briefly, I have an expertise in early child development and mental health, biological and social risk factor for adverse development and epidemiological research. My research is based both on work in low-income countries such Nepal and India, and in Norway.

I have experience in conducting randomized controlled trials in infants and young children both in Norway and internationally. In Nepal and India, I have been part of large clinical trials examining the effects of nutrition on child neurodevelopment and growth. I am also part of a multinational trial on the effect of music therapy on maternal bonding and child development. In a Norwegian context I have participated in smaller trials evaluating the effect of diet on neurodevelopment and cognition in infants and preschool children.

I also have an interest in developing and carrying out projects in close collaboration with services for children and adolescence in Norway such as the Pathways to Independence study in unaccompanied refugee minors under the care of the Norwegian child welfare services, and the BeProx project (In a Norwegian: Sammen mot mobbing) on the effectiveness of an anti-bullying program in Norwegian kindergartens.
