I'm a research professor at NORCE Climate, a Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research affiliate, and a member of the leader group of the Norwegian Research Centre on Sustainable Climate Change Adaptation.

My main research interests are seasonal forecasting, climate change impacts and solutions through co-production, and polar research. I currently lead the Seasonal Forecasting Engine project and the transdisciplinary and cross-sectoral Climate Futures initiative. I will also lead the EU Horizon 2020 project CONFER (Co-production of Climate Services for East Africa), which will start in September 2020.

In September 2019, I submitted the Climate Futures proposal as coordinator. This was a proposal for a new Centre for Research-Based Innovation (SFI), funded by the Research Council of Norway. With seven research partners and nearly 30 user partners, Climate Futures will start in late 2020 if funded. The main objective is to co-produce new and innovative solutions for predicting and managing climate risks from 10 days to 10 years into the future with a cluster of partners in climate- and weather-sensitive sectors.
