The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined health technology as the application of organized knowledge and skills in technical equipment, medicines, vaccines, procedures and systems designed to solve a health problem and improve quality of life.

At NORCE we have various competencies that build on health technology. We have worked with the elderly and gaming, the use of machine learning and AI to analyze text and images, the use of AR and VR for training and exposure therapy, advanced simulations that can be used in decision support, human-technology interaction and the use of welfare technology.

NORCE has high level expertise in biomedical instrumentation, sensor technology and biomedical optics in particular.
