Due to the increasing challenges in children and young people's mental health, this project aims to enhance health promotion in both kindergarten and school, as well as during the transition between the two, through creative and engaging learning. Creative, educational approaches that support health promotion and the development of social and emotional skills are being developed and implemented. This can, in turn, contribute to continuity and smooth transitions between kindergarten and school. The impact of the health-promoting approaches will also be evaluated.

Birkenes Municipality is the project owner, and the creative approaches are being developed in collaboration between Birkenes, NORCE, and Earthtree Media AS, represented by Øistein Kristiansen (Øistein's Pencil from NRK).

The project is part of, and funded through, Agder's public health initiative "Health-promoting schools and kindergartens".
