No-Gro

No-Gro

The project's main goal is to document the effect of alternative methods for controlling the fouling of net pens used in fish farming. Studies of two different methods with gentle robotic brushing, as well as a traditional method (rinsing), are used to provide traceable/comparable documentation.

The project will be able to provide great benefits for the farming industry by creating security for sustainable alternatives to the current control of fouling.

The project's ambition is to document the practical effects of the technologies being tested. One must assess which of the technologies will provide the lowest cost for the breeder, the best fish health, the greatest growth in biomass and the least environmental impact.

No-Gro will establish continuous data capture of many parameters, including visual data, which will benefit both business operators and researchers. This will be able to provide important input for the development of new knowledge, new methods and new technology.
