Lars K. Vognild is a Senior Research Scientist in the Data, AI, and Robotics (DARWIN) research group at NORCE. He has a broad interest in net-centric computing and has worked in various related fields over the years, including distributed multimedia, peer-to-peer networks, e-health, and, more recently, digitalization in transport, aquaculture, energy, and other private and public sectors.
Since graduating in Computer Science from the University of Tromsø, Lars has been with Forut, Norut, and Norce. During the mid-1990s, he spent a period at the University of Twente conducting research on distributed multimedia. From 2003 until the merger with NORCE in 2019, he led the ICT research department at Norut.
He has worked in several European and Norwegian funded projects, recently: EDIH Oceanopolis: European Digital Innovation Hub; R2DATO: Digital Automated and Autonomous Train Operation; PHMHydro: Performance and Health Monitoring for Hydroelectric Powerplants; SusOffAqua: Sustainable Value Creation in Offshore Ocean Aquaculture; AquaVitae: on IoT in Aquaculture; MONCOVID-19: Technologies for Monitoring COVID-19 Epidemiological Development.
