I am passionate about ensuring that research is applied and understood. This also means that researchers must make an effort themselves, preferably with the help of us in communication, to become more comprehensible and unlearn their "tribal languages" so that the knowledge they possess reaches decision-makers and the general public. At NORCE, I am currently responsible for our 450 energy and technology researchers, our profile-building course, and our work with Arendalsuka, and I have extensive expertise in storytelling through written and film-based tools.
My background as a political journalist with experience in TV, radio, and newspapers makes me a versatile communicator and advisor. I have a network of sources across Norway, including strong connections within political parties and government bodies.
Regarding work experience, I have worked at NRK, Avisa Finnmarken, TV3, Stavanger Aftenblad, Rogalands Avis, BA, and Firdaposten, in addition to JurK, RadiOrakel, and the Student Radio in Trondheim. I have an educational background in law, social psychology, journalism, and film and television.
I have extensive leadership experience as Head of Communications at Christian Michelsen Research, the Ministry of Modernization, the Norwegian Nurses Organisation, and NHO’s association for the transport sector, the Federation of Norwegian Transport Companies.
Currently, I am also a board member of the Forskerforbundet (Norwegian Association of Researchers) division at NORCE and have many years of previous experience as both a club leader and board member of the Norwegian Union of Journalists and the Norwegian Association of Social Scientists. I also served for several years as a member of the central board of the Norwegian Communication Association.
I would also like to highlight that I was instrumental in initiating and serving as chairman of the exchange program for Norwegian and Russian journalists and editors in the High North. This project, part of the Barents Region initiative, received support from then-Foreign Minister Thorvald Stoltenberg and ran for four to five years.
