It is inspiring to work on research and development projects resulting in technologies that make a difference.

I am a chief scientist at NORCE Energy, where I work in the Energy Modeling and Automation group.

My expertise lies in mathematical modeling and software development, primarily with applications in petroleum and geothermal energy.

I have long and broad experience as a researcher, software developer, lecturer, project manager, and administrative leader of a research group. Since 2015, I have led the software development project OpenLab, a digital infrastructure for technology development, education, research, and innovation. OpenLab is designed to accelerate the uptake of new technologies and to renew the education of future engineers and researchers in the energy field. OpenLab is on the Norwegian roadmap for research infrastructures. I have also had the pleasure of participating in developing commercial successes from the idea stage to widely implemented technology (Sekal AS, now acquired by Halliburton).

I hold a PhD in energy and petroleum technology (University of Stavanger and University of Houston), an MSc in applied mathematics (University of Bergen), and a BSc in marine engineering and business administration (Bergen University College).
