Om personen

Stefán Hjörleifsson fullførte utdanning som lege i Bergen i 1998 og spesialistutdanning i allmennmedisin i 2011. Han har bachellorgrad i filosofi, er godkjent veileder i allmennmedisin og har vært veileder for to veiledningsgrupper. Han har doktorgrad i medisin fra 2008 med avhandlingen Genetics, risk and medicalisation – A case study of preventive genetic technologies in Iceland. Han har vært førsteamanuensis ved Universitetet i Bergen siden 2008 og har arbeidet som fastlege siden 2001. Han har vært styremedlem i Norsk forening for allmennmedisin i 2016-2019, medlem av fagrådet for Allmennmedisinsk forskningsfond i 2014-2019, og styremedlem i Filosofisk poliklinikk siden 1998.
