Youth@hordaland and use of health services

Youth@hordaland and use of health services

There is limited knowledge on whether and to what extent adolescents with mental health problems and substance-related problems receive relevant health services. The researchers therefore aim to link information on mental health problems and substance use from the youth@hordaland-survey (REC entry “2011/811 Barn I Bergen – runde 4”) and data from the Norwegian Patient Registry (NPR). The purpose of this project is to expand our knowledge regarding the extent to which adolescents with mental health problems receive necessary health services, and to specify how many adolescents with mental health problems that do not receive relevant services. The linkage of data from the youth@hordaland-survey and the NPR will apply to approximately 1000 to 1500 of the adolescents. Consent to the linkage of the data sources have previously been collected during the adolescents’ participation in the youth@hordaland-survey, and we do not plan to re-collect their consent for this actual linkage.
