Health services research in primary care

Sist oppdatert: Jan 14, 2020

General practitioners (GPs) are involved with different roles in primary health care, for example as regular GPs with responsibility for a patient list, as nursing home doctors, or as collaboration partners with different institutions and professions. Multimorbidity and complex conditions are frequently occurring among the GP’s patients. AFE Bergen conducts research projects exploring GPs’ assignments, roles and frames, including different kinds of innovation, development, implementation and evaluation of health care services. Our projects include evaluation of new health care services, GPs’ challenges and experiences in their roles as gatekeepers, evidence-based policy and practice, consumer participation in research, and elaboration of qualitative methods in medical and health research.
